Exploring the relationship between people and hazards 

The Human Dimensions of Hazards Research Group aims to expand our understanding of how individuals and communities live with hazards. 

HDHRG Director Dr. Tara McGee has co-published a book drawing on the lessons learned from 200 interviews across seven First Nations. First Nations Wildfire Evacuations: A Guide for Communities and External Agencies includes practical advice for evacuation preparedness and is intended for both Indigenous communities and supporting agencies.

Routledge Handbook of Environmental Hazards and Society

This Handbook provides a state-of-the-science review of research and practice in the human dimensions of hazards field. It showcases the work of international experts, including established researchers, future stars in the field, and practitioners.
